A black and white portrait of Jam

NICE TO MEET YOU.

I'm Jam Bayoneto (He/Him), a creative specializing in User Experience and Interaction Design. I hold a degree in Experience Architecture from Michigan State University, where I learned to approach design with a human-centered mindset, blending various disciplines to create inclusive, equitable, and accessible experiences.

My career journey has taken me to Apple, where I worked up close with diverse user groups as a support technician for over the last five years. This role gave me a front-row seat to user behaviors, their frustrations, and those moments that bring them joy, shaping my approach to design. My time working with the Mac Product Design team also gave me the chance to see firsthand how hardware and software come together to enhance user experience. Additionally, as a previous squad leader in the United States Army Reserve, I've learned the essence of service and the critical nature of precision and diligence in mission-critical tasks.

My mission is simple: to understand people and use that insight to design solutions that make a difference. I blend rhetoric, technology, and design to not just change the world but hopefully leave it a bit better than I found it.

When I'm not working, I'm likely out snapping photos and playing with film emulations with my Fuji X100F or at the gym closing my Apple Watch activity rings for the day.

JAM'S ALL-IN MENTALITY

What is the All-In Mentality?
As a creative, both my work and personal life are driven by key principles that resonate deeply with me. These principles ensure my actions and creations align with my beliefs, fueling THE ALL-IN MENTALITY. Going all-in means grabbing every opportunity to embody and share my core values, inspiring others along the way. It's about courage, venturing beyond comfort zones, and tackling challenges to achieve my vision.

I break down my philosophy into five key aspects:
ALL-IN ON
INCLUSION AND ACCESSIBILITY
I strive to design for a diverse range of abilities and backgrounds, making them universally enjoyable and usable.
ALL-IN ON
INNOVATION
I aim to constantly push the boundaries of traditional design, embracing innovation and cutting-edge technologies to transform user experiences.
ALL-IN ON
COLLABORATION
I value the importance of teamwork, diverse inputs, and transparent communication to enrich the design process.
ALL-IN ON
GROWTH +
DEVELOPMENT
I am dedicated to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest user challenges and advancements in technology and design.
ALL-IN ON
RESILIENCY +
VULNERABIITY
I believe in fearless feedback, embracing iterative learning from failures, and that bouncing back from setbacks is an integral part of any process.

My mom got the idea after seeing an ad of the Dutch beer, Amstel.
